This dashboard displays the positions of key stakeholders, drawn from publicly available sources, on each major design feature of the Electoral Legislation Amendment (Electoral Reform) Act 2025. It also summarises how each design feature operates to the disadvantage of independents and minor parties, and what reforms stakeholders have proposed.
Each position is coded against the Act as enacted, and is our interpretation of the cited sources.
Solid squares are high confidence (the stakeholder's own statement says it directly); a dot marks medium confidence (indirect, or reported only in the media); hatching marks low confidence. An empty square means no stated position was found.
Positions are current as at 12 October 2026. They are drawn from publicly available sources, chiefly stakeholders' own statements: JSCEM submissions and hearing evidence, Hansard, committee reports and dissents, media releases, policy papers and private member's bills. Media reports are used only where the official record is silent. This is a working draft: it may not be exhaustive, positions can change, and entries should be checked against the primary sources before they are relied on.
Anyone with contributor access can leave a comment on any position or feature, saying what should change and why. Comments are shared with everyone who can open this page.
